Delaware State Police Corporal Stephen J. Ballard was killed in the line of duty by murderer Burgon Sealy Jr., 26 of Middletown, Delaware.
Sealy was killed by the State Police at 9:17am, this morning, when he emerged from the home firing shots at the police. The killer had the neighborhood under siege since he killed the hero cop. The neighbors were evacuated and were living in emergency shelter provided by the Red Cross.
Corporal Ballard was killed in the parking lot of a Bear, Delaware Wawa convenience store by Sealy. Sealy then fled to the home where family member notified the police. Sealy had been barricaded in his home until an armored police vehicle hit the house owned by his father.
